hm.

So.... graduate school sucks.  For me, at least.

It has been stuffed full with disappointments and confusion... long drives... etc etc.  I dont even know what I am doing anymore.  I hope that after 2 years I will "get it".

Fight on Trojans!  Or... something.

Death.

Life has been hard.

My uncle passed away a few days ago.  Today was his memorial service.  He was a well- known southern california sports fisherman.  Around 1000 people were at his memorial service.  I have many feelings regarding his loss, but one that is most pressing is the fact that I didnt try harder to be close to him and his family.  Now he is gone.

School is hard.  I thought USC would be awesome, but in fact it has been quite disappointing.  My stomach turns when I think how much money I am spending to be disappointed.

One of my mom's co-workers died in a plane crash a couple of days ago.  She was only 24. She was on a medical mission to Mexico. I had a dream last night I was on a plane and it had to land due to difficulties.  Then when we were in the air again on a different plane, the plane in front of us did a nose dive and crashed in front of us.  I remember someone on the plane, I think someone I was related to. saying they wanted to get off the plane.  I didnt sleep well last night, nor did I sleep much.. but when I did sleep I had this lovely dream.

okay I think that is all for now.  Letterman is on.

Currently Listening
The Trials of Van Occupanther
By Midlake

- Roscoe

Got burned by a guy.  Thats okay.  He was hot, older, a surfer, in bands.. friend with bands.  But alas... time to move on.

I did get this out of him, though.

A band called Midlake which I should have known about much sooner.

Best song, in my opinion, off their latest is Roscoe.

Roscoe Lyrics (Midlake)

Stonecutters made them from stones
Chosen specially for you and I
Who will live inside
The mountaineers gathered tender
Piled high
In which to take along.
Driving many miles, knowing they'd get here.

When they got here, all exhausted
On the roof leaks they got started
And now when the rain comes
We can be thankful

Ooh aah ooh
When the mountaineers
Saw that everything fit, they were
Glad and so they took off

Thought we were due for
A change or two
Around this place
When they get back they're all mixed up with no one to stay with

The village used to be all one really needs
That's filled with hundreds and hundreds of
Chemicals that mostly surround you
You wish to flee but it's not like you
So listen to me, listen to me

Oh, oh, oh and when the morning comes,
We will step outside
We will not find another man inside
We like the newness, the newness of all
That has grown in our garden soaking for so long

Whenever I was a child I wondered what if my name had changed into something more productive like Roscoe
Been born in 1891
Waiting with my Aunt Rosaline

Thought we were due for
A change or two
Around this place
When they get back they're all mixed up with no one to stay with

1891
They looked around the forest
They made their house from cedars
They made their house from stones

Oh, they're a little like you, and
They're a little like me
When they're falling me

Thought we were due for
A change or two
Around this place
(This place)
(This place)

When they get back they're all mixed up with no one to stay with
(When they get back they're all mixed up with no one to stay with)

Take a little listen.

Tomorrow is my niece Annabelle's 3rd birthday.  We are going to the San Diego Wild Animal Park to celebrate.

The next day is my 24th birthday and so far the only thing I know I want to do is get my haircut, go to this lecture series at a church in San Diego, and eat a low-cal meal.

My mom, gma, and aunt are back on our diets.  This week I lost 1.6. Woo hoo.  Only 20 more to get back to where I was pre-Kentucky.  Oh well.  Its life.  Its my genes.  Its my eating problem.

For my birthday I really want perfume, an iPod, and a laptop.  I will probably only get the perfume, though... if even that.
